BACKSTORY

Winnie didn’t have the best relationship with her parents, which lead to her feeling lonely most of her childhood in spite of having siblings. After leaving Japan with their family at the age of 12 and her older sister leaving for college, their parents became emotionally neglectful towards both Winnie and Poppy, which impacted her really badly.
While dealing with the emotional abuse from their parents, she felt like she had to protect their younger sister, Poppy, from said neglect and from any other harm. This caused her trauma, that lead to Winnie starting to age regress, without realizing what it was.Once she moved out, she started going to therapy, where their therapist helped them learn about age regression. But during her first therapy session, her anxiety and nerves were so hard to handle that she shapeshifted into a plushie!Since Winnie was experiencing so much loneliness and many changes after moving out to go to college to become an elementary school teacher, her therapist suggested she should go to a camp, to help better understand herself and to make new friends.

What is age regression?

Age regression is a coping mechanism to cope with childhood trauma. It can also be used to cope with stress or anxiety. Age regressors are usually known as Littles. It is usually referred to as Littlespace. They go into really any age younger than themself and will act like that age. People may do things like playing pretend, speaking less, coloring, and babbling when regressed.
